Clubs and Organizations
Russell Middle School is proud to offer a wide variety of clubs and activities for our students. Students choose to participate in these clubs and organizations based on their individual talents and interests. These activities provide students the opportunity to be a part of a group outside of the classroom as they build leadership skills and further friendships, adding to their educational experience.  Read more...   << Close

"R" Bucks - Token Economy at RMS

R-Bucks is a motivational program to encourage students to be more responsible citizens in school, and in doing so, they are rewarded by shopping at the R-Bucks store ran by our PTO. Each week, students are given a punch card with 100 R-Bucks for the week. The less bucks they use, the more they have to spend in the store! Parents wishing to help with the "R" Bucks Store can visit our PTO site to find ways to volunteer.  Read more...   << Close

At RMS we have adopted the FISH Philosophy!

This philosophy has infiltrated our students and staff. It is a set of simple, practical tools to help us create the work culture we want at our school. It is a way to build stronger relationships that equip us to face challenges more effectively. FISH! philosophy fulfills the most basic needs of human beings who, in turn, fulfill the needs of the organization—more connected teams, better communication, extraordinary service, and higher retention. In order to cultivate this attitude in our school, we will have ongoing activities and monthly celebrations. If you are interested in learning more about this movement at our school, please contact Mrs. Digby or Mrs. Thompson. Check out what we're doing and "catch" the spirit, too!   << Close

It is not too early to begin thinking about College and Career Readiness! It is in Middle School that Kentucky students begin working on their Individual Learning Plan (ILP), exploring careers and matching them up with their individual skills and interests. Students can track and reflect on their community service, work experience, and extra-curricular and organization activities, helping prepare for college entrance later. Students will also take the EXPLORE test, preparing them for the ACT while at RMS. Please read more on our Counseling Page.
